Seriously, this is a "boom" level response. However, do the un-callus-hand white collar GOPers and their consultants have the balls to run such an ad?
It's kind of the point. You pick the battles that make the other side look bad. That's why the pro-life side chooses battlegrounds like the barbaric practice of partial birth abortion. Or in this case, passing a law to protect abortion patients from quacks--but of course it happens to have a couple of nice bonuses attached to it. One being that it makes it harder for abortionists to operate, and another being that it proves libs aren't serious about the reproductive health of women.

Have hospitals moved away from the hospitalist model? I'm pretty sure if someone is taken as an urgent/emergent patient from an outpatient facility, they would see the first ER doc available and not wait to check admitting privileges of the referring physician.
But I could be wrong.
No you're right. It's funny, people are just being bamboozled here. Many admit that this is obviously a not-so-sly attempt to limit abortions but then they usually add "but at least it makes things safer." Well, where is the evidence that this makes anything safer?

Pro-lifer's view of safer: "well, 25,000 babies will be saved."
Pro-choicer's view of safer: "this is not safer, these kids will be a burden on our schools and prisons."

Ok if you argument is this will be "safer" because there will be less abortions, fine. But lets not pretend it is going to be any safer for those women actually undergoing an abortion.

If supporting it keeps them in power they will support it.

Can't we all agree that reducing the number of unwanted pregnancies should be main goal and I'm not saying this law does that. I'm just saying that contracrption preventing pregnancy in the first place for those that aren't looking to get pregnant should be priority #1.
I think there should be a law where you get a freebie abortion first. No questions asked. When you come in for a second abortion you have to decide whether to have the child or if you choose abortion then that's it. You get fixed on the spot. Sorta like "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me."

The 5th Circuit is as conservative as the 9th is liberal. This should come as no surprise at all.
Posted on 3/27/14 at 9:30 pm to Toddy
That's actually a good point Toddy. Conservatives in the 5th cheer as much as liberals in the 9th on a favorable ruling. Liberals in the 5th hate as much as conservatives in the 9th on the flip side.

Don't bother, we both know they don't give a rats arse about anyone who is outside a womb.

I'm going to have to hear about this from Ms DS for a month

If not more so. A couple of those justices are out of control and should be removed from the bench (not possible, unfortunately, unless they really frick up and commit some egregious breach of ethics).
