I understand ULL is hitting the ball pretty well right now, and we're not, but why did this have to turn into a LSU vs ULL dick measuring thread?
The problem is, this is a ULL graduate if we do start measuring...

I love debating with uneducated baseball fans. (ULL fans)

My guess is you are in favor of removing the kickoff and extra point from football right?
You are talking the removal of a play. I'm talking removal of the risk in a play. I 100% agree with the high school rule that a ball in the endzone is a dead ball.
In the pros I would love a rule that says if you kick off and it goes through the uprights you get an 8th point. I would also love to see the high school rule put into the college game except for the last two minutes of the game.

I actually like the bats. It's real baseball now, the strategy and all....pitching should always dominate and usually the coaching creme rise to the top...shrewd tactics is what dominates now. Lsu just refuses to use them. The bunt and run, triple options, fake bunt/ steals, fake bunt/ slash hitting. It's all part of the game...instead of relying on talent alone you apply pressure to the defense to win....thinking mans game...
And if you get a hold of one you can hit it out the yard. Mahtook hit 20+ in a year...just gotta hit through the ball and get in the weight room....
I wouldnt mind going back to -3''s 2 5/8 barrel with no bb-core. The 3 years of -3 2 3/4 barrel was still too much after the -5 2 3/4 gorilla ball days....that's why they came up with bob-core

Wrong place.

I would love it if college baseball went to wooden bats all together. I mean the baseball can't be made out of plastic or aluminum and the gloves are made from leather. You can't use plastic gloves.
Sure it is more expensive to use wooden bats but make division I baseball use wooden bats. You can charge a buck or two more for tickets and find other ways to cover the costs.

Unlike LSU, the rest of the country doesn't have great attendance for baseball. In fact, UCLA still only averages 2,000 people tops and they are in LA and are also defending champs.
Raising ticket prices won't work

Dylan Butler hit a homerun DEEP into the trees tonight against a heavy wind.
The bats argument is a crutch for the week. If you're gonna mash, you're gonna mash. Sorry for crushin' bros.

Im guessing you will throw out the stat of 7 home runs against ulm next....to nip that in the bud, the wind was blowing to right field 20 mph and every ball they hit out would have been a pop fly.
And yes, i was there

Actually no. I mentioned the strong wind when that was brought up. Still, 30 homeruns on the season. Team is hitting .309 and slugging .505 so far.
LSU is young and hitting is hard. They'll figure it out and start to hit but let's not just blindly blame the bats, good hitting teams will hit the ball.

Absolutely but if we were using the old bats ull would have 50 home runs....the point of this thread is the dead bats.

Serious question, who was the best pitcher UL-Lafayette has faced this year.
Posted on 3/26/14 at 10:34 pm to redfieldk717
And without looking it up i would imagine that ull leads the country by a good bit in homers and if they dont then they are in the front of the pack by a good bit.
When everyone travels to omaha, the game changes....home runs turn into outs. Its is a noticeably bigger park.

Probably cody glenn and he cant even get into the weekend rotation
Eta: turnbull is legit but you guys only had 2 hits and 0 earned runs against him

Alabama Friday night starter Spencer Turnbull.
He's currently sporting a 0.28 ERA over 32 IP and 6 Starts. We beat them 2-0 that night with Austin Robichaux throwing a CG Shutout, 11 Ks.
