I'm starting to form the opinion that Bregman may not be the once in a generation player that we once thought he was. Sure, he's a good player, but I'm not sure he is someone that you would form the rest of your team around. He's a below-to-average fielder, a good hitter with a chance to hit a few home runs, but we are seeing his inability to hit junk pitches when he has no one in the lineup behind him to protect him from that.

Last season, Katz was the focal point of our lineup and he excelled at it and with his bat protecting the three-hole, Bregman got a lot of pitches to hit and it kind of inflated his numbers a bit. So far this season, Bregman has been the biggest disappointment not named Cody Glenn and it really isn't that close.

Sophomore slump. It was bound to happen.Hang in there, he will come around.

I think Katz hit 10 HRs last season in the course of like 8 games. And then he couldn't hit Cleveland after that and started to struggle for a few weeks.

maybe he isn't one of the best players LSU will ever see, but I would hope you would at-least think this guy is a good hitter. I personally think Bregman is pressing and it is affecting his defense and his hitting, Until he strings a few hits together he will continue to press. I suspect that once he gets out of his slump he will raise to be one of the better hitters in the SEC again.
