Yeah... but it also took him this long to start Tyreke at SF. And look at our record now.

No doubt. The total lack of calls has severely impacted Gordon's scoring and percentages.

Do you watch the games? Gordon gets abused around the basket and hardly ever gets a call. Harden, on the other hand, gets a foul call any time he approaches the paint.

it's true that Gordon gets robbed of his calls often....He's not half as good as Harden.

It is true that Gordon does not get the calls.
Even if he got the calls, he still wouldn't be near as good as Harden is.

I am just saying that Gordon is averaging his fewest FT attempts of his career and he definitely takes it to the basket.
It's all a guessing game, but if he gets one more call a game his FG% could potentially be like .470 for the season. I think he should be doing better, but I feel it is ridiculous how little respect he gets with calls.

shite pisses me off with EG man.
Whatever Gordon did to upset all the NBA refs must've been serious.

When he was really attacking the basket early in the year (before being dissuaded by the hacks and no-calls), there were probably 2 or 3 non-calls each game on layup attempts. If those are called, his FTs go up by about 5 and his shot attempts go down by that 2 or 3 per game. That's about 4 points per game given his FT%. That would put him over 19 PPG.

I just want his lack of getting the calls to be some other team's problem.

This article is from 2010 when Gordon was still with the Clippers.
LINK
The article points out that he's never gotten calls. I don't know why. But when I was reading it, it became pretty obvious that our fan base has a completely different perception of Gordon than how the Clippers locker room saw him. I wish he wouldn't make the pouty face, because he actually does seem like a nice guy. He's shy and reserved, so instead of making a scene or talking to the refs, he puts on the face.
quote:
"It's my job right now," Dunleavy said. "I took one [technical foul] the other night for him because it was like, 'Come on, how did you miss that?' I have to help him out sometimes, at least bring some attention to it."
Although Gordon, 21, has easily solidified his position as one of the best young players in the NBA just one-third of the way through his second season, he has yet to earn much attention for it either in the public eye or in the eyes of the league's referees.
Gordon is averaging just 2½ trips to the free throw line per game, ranking 32nd in the league despite scoring 17.3 points a game. It isn't all that surprising considering he plays on a team that has gone 34-91 since he was drafted seventh overall out of Indiana, and he has the manners of a choir boy. But it remains an issue for a young player whose game is built on slashing to the basket, drawing contact and getting to the free throw line.
Take that part of his game away, the athleticism that makes him a budding superstar, and Gordon becomes a tentative jump-shooter.
"I think a lot of people around the league know how good he is," Dunleavy said. "I wish the referees did.
"We find a lot of times after the fact that the kid gets fouled, and he doesn't get calls for some reason. Which is really hard to figure out, other than he's just too nice and too quiet."

Unless we get some great deal for Gordon I think everything will work out if Evans and team defense can defend opposing SFs.
Gordon has not been a bad player and our offensive rotations could be very strong if Monty gets his head out of his arse.

Yes sir, I watch games. The only thing comparable to Gordon and Harden is the money they make. Harden will either be first or 2nd team all-NBA this year on a team that will likely win 55-57 games and you think it's because he flops? do you watch the games, my man?

I see I need to break it down.
The guy said he would be "a hyped up player also." I didn't take that to mean Harden's equal.

I'm not debating that at all. He's a very good basketball player.

He does flop, but that wasn't the point at all. Flops aside, the guy gets a lot of calls that Gordon absolutely does not. Driving to the basket is one of Gordon's big strengths, but he gets lots of no-calls. As I stated previously, this results in less points and a lower shooting percentage. Gordon would probably be putting up at least 19-20 if he got anywhere near the calls that Harden does.

I watch Pelicans games. Hence why I am on a Pelicans board. I didn't see your avatar on my phone and didn't know you were a Rockettes fan.

Yeah I responded with regard to Harden because the guy is a Rockets fan and he undoubtedly gets a ridiculous number of touch foul calls. Gordon has been a solid player this year. If he was just getting a few more calls which he by the way has deserved he would be a hyped player on the Pelicans.
Right now it is all about Davis and Evans. Then you hear about how Holiday and Anderson are hurt. Gordon has been an afterthought that has only been mentioned in trades and about his contract. My biggest criticism about Gordon is I think he should be a big closer for the money he gets paid; however, people are dead wrong about the guy not being a solid starter.
The team has been extremely successful with Evans playing with two guards recently (so more of a SF role defensively). I don't see why playing him with two strong players in Gordon and Holiday wouldn't also be a dramatic improvement compared to Roberts and Morrow.

It's insane! Every game he gets fouled repeatedly driving to the basket with no call. Roberts and rivers even get more calls than one of our so called "stars." I don't get it.
