The Louisiana College administration is calling a student strike set for Monday a possible violation of the school’s policies — one that comes with serious consequences.
“Most importantly, please be reminded that under some circumstances, severe sanctions such as suspension, denial of a degree, or expulsion from the College may be imposed upon the first violation of the Code,” according to a notice the LC administration sent to students and faculty Friday evening.
The strike — being called “Prayers for Progress” — became public Thursday after a group of current LC students posted fliers around campus overnight. They’re demanding new leadership at the school, namely the removal of Joe Aguillard, president of the private Baptist school in Pineville since 2005.
“Our terms are resignation of the president or dismissal by the board,” said a spokesman for a group of students in contact with The Town Talk.
They are asking for students, faculty, alumni and community members to join them at Guinn Auditorium on campus at 8 a.m. Monday for prayer and worship.
“We are shutting down the school by not attending classes until we are heard and we make steps in the right direction,” the flier reads. “Join us for prayer in Guinn. Bring anything you’ll need. Together we can make a change.”
The student notice said violations were determined through several provisions in the LC Student Handbook, Code of Student Conduct, concerning the announcement of a strike with the intent of “shutting down the school” and the “appropriate use of social media.”
“Any such activities designed for this purpose are in violation of the College policies as established by the Board of Trustees,” it stated.

I read the article and I'm still not sure what Joe Aguillard has done for them to want him gone. Can you enlighten?

LC has taken a severe decline in the past few years.

Yea, Aguillard is incompetent...He's using Calvanists as a smoke screen for his failures and disaster of an administration.
Pathetic

Protestants gone protest.

The Louisiana Baptist Convention is too busy fighting a war on Calvinists to even realize the school is literally falling apart.
The continual support of the fool aguillard despite the reprehensible behavior he has shown while "leading" LC points out the ineptitude of Hankins and any other board member or baptist who supports him.
Multiple instances of misappropriation of funds, lies, and threats has not gotten this man fired.
League Champs is wrong on most counts.
The largest donor pulled out because money that was earmarked for the caskey divinity school was taken by aguillard and used to fund LC Tanzania ( a pie in the sky dream).
All the while aguillard has sent LC in debt with multiple grad level school plans all the while allowing the main campus infrastructure to rot away.
Take religion out of all of this and the failures remain the same.
Theft, misappropriation of funds, lies, fraud, blackmail...

Update:
Aguillard has reportedly been asked to resign (which he allegedly refused to do), and could be on the way out.
But the only reason is that he was caught on tape bad-mouthing the director of the LBC, who, up until this point, has been one of his biggest supporters.
The LBC director holds a lot of influence over the LC Board of Trustees (which is a problem, but that's another story). The full board meets in a couple of weeks. If JA refuses to resign, it now looks likely the Board will vote him out (they only failed by four votes last year).
