Well the committee obviously felt that they hadn't been tested and they were going to make sure they earned it. I applaud them.

Eh, Kentucky was the EIGHT SEED in their bracket. I get not giving them an easy road but that's some bullshite. Especially after UK played as well as it did in the SEC Tournament.

You keep saying this but if you actually look at numbers you'll see the 8 seeds as a whole this year were actually much below average..

Terrific game. Shitty last play call. Early has to take that shot. He was money the entire 2nd half.

Who had the highest rpi among 8 seeds? Kentucky by a wide gap?

Kentucky was slated as a 5 or 6 seed in like every bracketology out there. Wichita State got screwed by having to play them so early.

That wichita state team was insanely impressive.

Yep. They were like 18th in the RPI and were #5 in SOS. Committee boned them.

Yea, they lose by 2 to a very talented Kentucky team.

You're an idiot

And made sure to bone WSU with one of the most difficult brackets in recent memory.

RPI is a stupid way to judge a team, but if you look at how Kentucky was ranked in the RPI you'll see WS was boned..

Those were two very good teams.

I'm not even sure if the better team won. I'm not even sure there is a better team. They both played one of their best games and the real winner was all of the people watching. Game of the tournament so far.

I am more sold than ever that they were a very legit threat to win it all. Bottom line is that was a horse shite second round game.

yeah they were really good.

I seriously doubt anyone else would go undefeated against their schedule, and I also seriously doubt that this same team would do it again if you gave them 10 or so more tries

Agreed, UMass should have been an 8 seed and UK a 6.

With all the one and dones the committee needs to pay attention to how teams are finishing their season. UK became a much better team.

Yeah if they had lost I was going to extremely regret not having them go far in my bracket.

Both teams have been elite on the defensive end of the court lately, so what they both did on offense was just awesome to see.

Every computer ranking, RPI, pomoroy, sagarin, had UK in the top 20. Just sucks this was a second round game.

There's a nice correlation between performance and both player experience and wins in a team's last 10 regular season games.
