Why would anybody criticize Tyreke as the starting SF?
22 ppg
6 rpg
6 apg
.529 FG%
.400 3PT%
.851 FT%
The guy has been a stud.

I don't think he's criticizing. He's just pointing out he's forced to play Tyreke in another position. Just one of the reasons they are losing.

Why is Evans necessarily a SG?
I wouldn't say that is a fair criticism.

Tyreke has done well playing sf and guarding smallfowards this season except Jeff Green who always have a superstar night every once in a while.

Um, coach, wasn't that the plan once Evans was acquired this summer?
I don't think Monty has been awful or fireable, but I just don't know if he needs to come back with this roster. It kills me watching him use these guys like its 1998.

Good point.

Yep, even though we're paying a ton for an unorthodox lineup of Evans, Holiday and Gordon, I really think they could do some damage. Maybe Monty will eventually get the message.

My biggest fear is getting lead to the playoffs next year and getting bounced in the first round. Under this scenario, it would essentially buy Monty at bare minimum one more season. How many seasons would it then take to get rid of him with repeated first round failures? I think that they would at least let him ride out the next 3 years of his contract. Cue George Karl Denver joke here from random Monty defender.
I am praying that our players understand that there are going to be things they need to figure out on their own. If Davis takes the reins a little more and some of the responsibility off Monty, that could mean the difference between being successful into June or not. God it's nice having AD.

Not to mention the most unorthodox of them all, Anthony Davis.

If Monty would show any desire to join the modern NBA, I have no problem keeping him on. That seems a bit of a reach at this point, but maybe fresh blood on the staff can push him forward

That's exactly what's going to happen. Monty will be here until a lack of postseason success gets him fired or not renewed. On the plus side, Monty did play a bit unorthodox when he had the Finishing Five healthy. His biggest flaw from a fan perspective is choosing vets over youth. With a healthy team that's not as much of an issue.

His top 2 Assistants were assistants on the Philly team he played for. Their common bond is 90's basketball. I do fear that Group Think is part if the problem and a new assistant could help. But would Monty demote one of his guys to make that happen?

I would guess Monty would not demote/fire either guy. That is going to have to be a directive from the front office.
It might be the best bet for the fire him now crowd to lose him

No. He's too loyal to a fault.
He's gonna do it his way. I mean look at his statement. Paraphrasing, " We're overachieving with shitty talent. I'm doing my job, I'm forced to play this hand".
