Do we even know how mobile Bolden is?
I am assuming that you do because of all the practices you have attended, so clue us in.

Matt Saracen had some success switching to WR as well.

He was not a good scrambler as a QB, which doesn't necessarily mean he isn't a good runner, etc.

He does have good size and straight line speed. No clue how it will translate, but he has a way better shot of seeing the field at WR than QB.

Why? I know it's 3 yrs later for him, but if he's a great athlete and totally understands coverages and holes in them, why woukdnt he be a solid receiver?

They played QB in high school because most teams just put their best athlete at QB. There was no real switch. Ware was never going to be a QB and neither was RR. They both played a ton of WR/RB along with QB.

I'm always interested in why people will say with absolute certainty that what a player will or will not do, can or can not do. I'm not able to attend practices since they are evidently able to so I just want to know on what they are basing their certainty.

would u have said the same if Stephen Rivers got moved to reciever? I mean his 6'8 220 shouldnt he be able to dominate Dbs too? or is there some other factor involved cuz last time i checked pocket passers cant move to reciever.

This is dumb. Rivers isn't the athlete that Bolden is.

It is possible he plays. Hes the biggest wr currently on campus and id assume he can run faster than a 4.77, which is what landry ran at the combine. ID think he would run under a 4.6. Athleticism isnt what will hold him back, its the fact he hasnt been catching balls everyday for the past few years like some of the others have.

it's Shepard, Jeaux. and he had about 60 catches for his career, including one season of 33. if Bolden can top that, he should have a shot at playing on Sunday.

The coaches moved him there, what else do any of you need to know? They did that because he understands football, and they consider him more of an asset there. We have very little experience there and a 5th yr senior with a ton of knowledge and obviously athletic enough for them to think he is wr material.
If they thought he wouldn't have a shot, they would have left him at qb and let him not play there.
I think everyone should understand our D will be better, but our offense will struggle with a new qb, unproven receivers and new faces on the OL.
I see LSU trying to shorten games this year and be more "boring" of an offense, which we caught a glimpse of in the bowl game. If that's the case, a smart possession receiver has a place.
I pray the qb develops quickly because if Les loses trust in whoever it is, our offense will be forced to regress back to the early JJ days. And God that was frustrating knowing we had top talent at the wr positions.

ME TOO!! also I'm sure the coaches would've laughed at Bolden for suggesting WR if he didn't exhibit an ability to contribute there!!

I always like to see players switch positions that their old position complemented. WR to DB, QB to WR, OL to DL. Those players know more about what their previous position now needs of their new one, because they've been in those shoes before. Gives them the inside track as long as they can eventually grasp the new position. I wish Bolden the best of luck, that's gotta be a tough decision to make at this point in his career.
