I am not trying to reinvent the wheel here. I am simply putting the numbers down on paper, aka the internet, for you to take a look at. I love looking at numbers when it comes to LSU baseball and I usually put their national rankings and SEC rankings from mid April until the end of the season so I decided to try this out for now.
LSU Starting Pitchers
Aaron Nola
5-0, 0.22 ERA, 56 K, 8 BB, 40.1 IP, 19 H, 1 ER, .141 BA Against, 0.67 WHIP
He gave up 6 hits and that lonely earned run in Friday nights game so yeah, he has been on point in 2014. He ranks 8th in the Nation in ERA, 3rd in Strikeouts, 11th in WHIP, and 12th in Victories
Kyle Bouman - Could miss Saturday's Start LINK
3-1, 2.20 ERA, 14 K, 3 BB, 28.2 IP, 22 H, 7 ER, .220 BA Against
Jared Poche
5-1, 1.91 ERA, 24 K, 9 BB, 33.0 IP, 24 H, 7 ER, .205 BA Against
The starters combined ERA is 1.32

LSU Hitting
The hitting hasn't been overly impressive like it was to begin the 2013 season but we are without Katz, Rhymes, Jones, and Ross so the numbers are going to take a dive early on. That being said, these numbers aren't bad, don't get me wrong these numbers are great in some areas.

Andrew has completely turned his LSU career around with the addition of his hitting. Last season he struggled to get anything going but this year, he has become a beast in the box. He also has added 4 triples which has him ranked 7th in the Nation.

SEC is f'n stacked.
My only fixes I would like to see is Kade getting into catcher on a more regular basis, not DH let McMuffin sit there, and put Mr. Fraley in the field.
Overall if you want to be the best you gotta beat the best.
Also, what is going on with Bregs this year throwing over to 1B high. I realize he has the most E's because of his position see the statistically most hit balls, but he is sailing alot of balls this year, I've noticed.

If the first part of the season is any indicator, pitching in the sec is unreal. Doesn't bode well for our lineup that's trying to find its groove.

These stats make me feel good about this team.

50% isn't awful. If it was the full season. But small serving size. He's solid.

So are you for or against scivicque behind the dish?

Anything is better than Chinea, that dude is awful.

Kade should be our everyday starting Catcher thanks to his ability to hit the ball.
It might be a small scale but 50% is MLB numbers for throwing out runners man. Buster Posey won an MVP with a 30% CS pct.
In relation to Posey, Kade's CS pct is 30%. Just saying.
To calculate the MLB CS % the formula is CS/CS+SB

Thanks but that is a simplistic approach to the stats

If I am correct, they are all throwing errors too

Also I would like to point out that Nola is on pace to finish with...
If he goes 130 innings this season on this pace his era will be 0.28 for the year.

been that way the past couple seasons. Vandy and USC have been absurd. Not sure if USC's bullpen has given up a run yet this season, pretty sure they hadn't going into last weekend against Ole Miss. And Vanderbilt has somehow shown they have an uncanny ability to convince 1st round draft picks to go to college

he definitely has had at least one non throwing error i can think of. it was in a midweek game the past couple weeks, early on in the game

you'd like to point out that his earned run average will remain the same if he continues on the same pace. how insightful.
