Acclaimed actor Robert Duvall - one of the few open conservatives in Hollywood - is leaving the Republican Party calling it "a mess".
quote:
That's quite a turnaround for Duvall, who narrated most of the videos for the 2008 Republican National Convention. In September 2008, he appeared on stage at a John McCain-Sarah Palin rally in New Mexico. In 2012, Duvall endorsed Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney. And back in 2001 was personally invited to President George W. Bush's inauguration.

Whatever floats his boat. ETA He believes in a woman's choice to murder an innocent child. Good riddance.

Great time to become a Dem.
At least he won't have to stand in line.

He must be looking for a new movie gig.

Leaving the shitshow Republican party doesn't necessarily mean he's becoming a democrat.

I love it when people make assumptions without any kind of fact to go on. The article simply said Duvall was leaving the GOP. It didn't say anything what he was becoming after.
I left the GOP a long time ago but I sure as shite didn't join the hell on Earth that's the democratic party.

Makes two of us.

How anyone here can have faith in either political party is beyond me. Both parties have fricked this country two ways to Sunday over the past 35 years. Is that not blatantly obvious to people?

I'd expect no less.

This all talk.
You have to start voting like you believe this.
I voted Gary Johnson 3rd party in 2012 thus walking the walk.

frick him. We'll be just fine. Maybe he's the virus because it sure seems like everyone he supported lost, besides Bush.
I love it when one person thinks he is relevant enough to make a statement on something no one cares about, his personal ideals!

i give you credit for that. I have yet to actually pull the trigger and not vote Dem although this last election it was solely a social issues/SCOTUS appointment vote.

Do it. Write letters to your Dem reps saying you're tired of socially conservative democrats that keep hooking up big businesses.

What in the hell have you been thinking for the last 40 years, Bob? Roe vs Wade was in 1973. The GOP was the prolife party way before you were Boo Radley.
Very odd timing.

i have called but i haven't written.
We'll see what happens in 2016. If the GOP nominates Rand I will probably vote 3rd party then. If it's Cruz I will have to go ahead and vote for the Dem again.

I thought Romney was leading the charge against women.
