I'm arguing that a list based solely on this season should not have Bayern or Barca at the top.
But then you have to find clubs who haven't lost or have some knock against them with which to replace them.
Maybe you could try to argue Real Madrid but they also haven't completely separated themselves from Barca or Atletico (not to mention that Juve played them toe to toe in their 2 CL matches, at least before the red card).
I don't see how you could argue any team below Barca actually over them (especially when Man City is pretty firmly in the group right below them).

You clearly don't follow La Liga much. Villarreal are very good. I don't see how being just promoted makes a difference. Bruno, Cani, dos Santos, Oliver Torres on loan.
Yeah, if there's a problem with my rankings, it's probably that I left off a couple of teams from La Liga that belong in addition to Villarreal.

Out of curiousity, if Bayern shouldn't be at the top this year, who do you think should be?

Correct for your ranking since it considers the entire season. However, there has been a pretty significant swing towards Real Madrid this calendar year. This 4-3-3 thing has been pretty brilliant.

Throttle may be a bit strong. The better team for sure though.
Juve's better now though than early in the season since Llorente, who got off to a really bad start, has started to click with the rest of the team.
We'll never know though because Juve's going to look pretty different next year when Conte switches to a 4-3-3 as well.

They´re at slightly over 80% now.
Llorente, got a goal in the tie, didn´t he?

He scored off and on from the beginning of his time at Juve but was just completely on a different page as far as buildup play.
After a couple of months he really figured out the partnership with Tevez and how to best utilize the runs of their wingbacks. He's actually getting assists and key passes now instead of just the random poacher goal here and there.
It's been the key to their league success as they're much less prone to being held to 0-0 or 1-1 draws in matches where they completely dominate than in the past.

Yeah, biggest benefit is that they've stopped leaking goals on the counter against weaker teams. They're a league winning machine now, not necessarily a world beating machine (though I wouldn't bet against it).

Yeah, I wouldn't bet against it either. In fact I'd bet them against anyone but Bayern and that would be a toss up.
They're not #2 in my prestigious rankings for nothing.

And we all know that's what matters most.

Madrid. Unbeaten in UCL and top of La Liga.
Note: In my personal rankings, Bayern is top.

I'm taking Madrid over anyone right now in a two legged tie.

I would as well. Doesn't mean they will win it, but CR7 is such a difference maker.

I don't get it. Where's Wigan?

No Martinez, no care.

I think the main thing that could derail them is one of their hothead defenders (Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo) doing something stupid and getting themselves sent off.
11 v 11 and healthy I think they are a strong bet to lift the elusive 10th.

Agreed, I think that is more likely to happen in a domestic confrontation. We will see. Exactly what makes this the best professional team competition on the planet.

Fair enough. Hard to argue against RM right now.

Agreed. They look a class apart from the other European teams I've watched the past 3 months.
