A Los Angeles man who spent 34 years behind bars for a decades-old killing was freed from jail Friday after his conviction was overturned. Kash Delano Register, 53, walked out of the Twin Towers downtown jail at about 4:30 p.m. and was greeted by family members and attorneys.

How much compensation would it take for you to feel okay with this?

$3.4M.

I feel a person is due $100,000 for each year in prison if wrongfully convicted.

These cases are good learning stories for young people. Most of these wrongly imprisoned guys were doing a lot of bad shite, which got them rounded up in the first place.

Obviously, this doesn't excuse going to jail for a crime you didn't commit, but others can learn about the negative effects of being around the wrong people/doing the wrong things.

34 years is ridiculous. Screw that

There is literally no dollar amount I personally would give up 34 years of my life for. None.

How anyone can see a story like this and still be pro death penalty boggles my reasonable mind.

I feel like there may be a law in place to compensate, but it's comparatively small

The front page of the advocate had a dude locked up for 25 years go free. He was on death row. It says in Louisiana you get $25,000 per year, max $250,000.
