So does this make drafting a corner early on less important??
I personally still think corner first round (Verrett or Dennard if available ) if not then I say OLB.
Thoughts?

I still think if an OL we want is there we go that route, but I think WR/OLB and then CB at this point.

Again, best player available seems like the way we go within these positions.

Still depends on what is happening with our Oline. If we lose both the Center and Right Tackle then we might need to get a Right Tackle in the 1st despite having 2 question marks as our 2nd Corners.

If the best OL available is sitting there at 27 I think the Saints take that. If there's 2nd/3rd round value left at OL then WR or CB.

At 27 it's hard to say. Let the draft dictate your pick unless they move the pick

I think OL in the 3rd.
Who knows though?
Anyone that claims they knew we'd sign Byrd is full of shite.

I feel like this signing makes it way easier to take best player available then to reach for a need.

I'd be willing to bet we take center sometime between 2-4 if we don't have that spot filled.

I think a Linebacker in the first. WR in the 2nd and then we draft a shitload of O-Lineman

This has no bearing on CB, but it does completely wipe out S.

I think most likely(though they'll go BPA within reason) are in no order CB, WR, C(not in the first), and LB in the first 3 rounds. OG(to get cheaper) and OT(possible hole) are possible also. I see a DT being taken late to replace Bunkley.

The rest of FA will have bearing. If we sign a starting CB then that comes off(barring BPA being to strong). OT could also come off if we sign someone.

But I think WR, C, and LB will be drafted because we need young rookies to develop there. OG is also something we will likely draft because of that.

This. You have no idea who will be there, who wont, who falls, who moves up, etc. I dont think we will get a good value pick at 27 with a LB. Doubt Mosley and Shazier lasts til then. We could go Kyle Van Noy... thats interesting. And supposedly we liked him at the combine.

But I do think we go either WR or OL in the 1st this year. Byrd signing with us doesnt put as big as need for a CB as we thought. Its still a need, but not as big as OL or WR. And you can get some good value CBs in the mid to later rounds. Phillip Gaines and EJ Gaines are guys i would love to get in the 3rd.

Especially Phillip Gaines. The past 2 seasons, there hasnt been a better CB in college football than him. His SR year he only allowed 13 catches of 40 attempts.... thats ridiculous. And hes 9th all time in PBUs with 38. And has played on an island with the other teams best WR. On the field, hes as good as any of the CBs in the draft. And then he went out and turned in the best combine out of all CBs. 6'0 195lbs and rain a 4.38 in the 40. Smooth and fluid in back pedals and with his breaks, that has consistently done it on the field and wowed people at the combine. He could end up being the best CB in this draft.

Yeah well he'll likely be gone before the mid rounds.

I'm actually confident rolling with our skill players as they stand now.

The offensive line needs addressing. Nothing matters if we can't protect Brees. Lelito, Harris, Armstead... Recipe for disaster. (And yes, Armstead is still a ? At this point)

Projected 4th - 5th rounder before the combine. Doubt he moves up 3 rounds. He will go late 2nd at the earliest and should be there in the 3rd.
