Checked the media guide for the records coming into 2014. Here are the season and career records, both held by Chris Cotton ( ):
Cotton 2013, 3 walks in 46.2 innings (.58 per 9)
Cotton 2010-2013, 16 walks in 127.1 innings (1.13 per 9)

Aaron Nola in 2014 has given up 2 walks in 27 innings (.67 per 9)

Nola has given up 27 walks in 242.2 career innings (1.00 per 9)

Nola is just a great pitcher, trying to appreciate how great he has been since he stepped on campus. His 2014 is shaping up to be historic and he has started better than he did in 2013. Zero earned runs allowed in 53 consecutive innings dating back to Arkansas in the SEC Tournament.

Nola

Chris Cotton was a walk on whom wasn't even given a practice uniform his freshman year. He had to buy his practice pants and stuff... Good for him earning those records.

One of the best underdog stories at LSU.

There are probably a lot of college pitchers from the 90's who wish they could have pitched in this era when you can throw strikes with little fear of being lit up.
