(side note: I hate how a fricking herd of walkers always shows up out of nowhere. Knock knock, who's there? Oh, just a herd of walkers conveniently at the front door),

This has been one of my constant complaints about the show. They make it a point to show how loud the walkers are (sleeping scene last episode) and yet every episode walkers are sneaking up on them or coming out of no where or standing behind a door. It doesn't add up.

This made be for some reason. It's like you think there's actual evidence of how it would be in a zombie apocalypse. Maybe some of them are dormant. Maybe some of them have evolved and gained some intelligence. Mabye it's just fun to have zombies jump out of nowhere from time to time.

I thought the herd was in response to Beth singing and playing the damned piano.

Edit: not really a herd. More of a group.

I think he's alluding to a possible upcoming similarity from comics. U were right to shut him down.

Walkers coming out of nowhere is a cheap tactic that this show uses to create danger/excitement. It's lame.

quote:

Whoever kidnapped Beth sent the dog to the funeral as recon. Then, once they knew it was a man and girl, they sent the walkers and waited to kidnap Beth. This seemed like a fairly obvious setup to me

I agree that whoever was living there kidnapped Beth, but them being able to sic a pack of walkers to the front door is far-fetched. They could've baited the front door to draw them in, but that doesn't seem likely since the walkers were just standing at the door ready to come in. How would they bring them in without food?

I think they were there because of Beth being loud as frick on the piano. I also agree that they acted out of character in that scene. They should fricking know to be quiet to not attract walkers, but there Beth is banging on the piano.

quote:

Then a few days later, Daryl thinks that things could be normal again in that funeral home (that they KNEW someone else was living in)

Right? And also Beth and Daryl's conversation from a couple episodes back where Beth said she made a mistake by thinking they would live a normal life in the prison...

Everyone knows this is fantasy, but there still needs to be logic to pull us into the realism that the show is trying to convey. The characters should not still be making rookie mistakes this far into the ZA.

it's more like a veteran mistake. A veteran mistake that Beth had just complained about herself making at the prison. I mean, they all realized that getting complacent and pretending they could be normal is what caused them to lose the prison. They said it outloud on screen.

Then, they did the exact same thing. That was poor writing.

The most annoying part to me was how out of character Daryl acted in that scene. They all saw how Rick caused them to lose the prison and several people because he wanted to pretend like things could be normal again. Then a few days later, Daryl thinks that things could be normal again in that funeral home (that they KNEW someone else was living in).

This leads to him being sloppy, and ultimately to Beth being kidnapped. It doesn't really fit his character or make sense given what they had just experienced.

I was more talking about how Beth playing the piano loudly and not knowing to be quiet (especially since they knew someone was living there that could be hostile and show up at anytime). Also, the characters constantly letting packs of walkers to "sneak" up on them.

But agreed with your point about the bad writing. Them acting like they can live happily ever after only days after losing the prison and having that conversation is lazy writing.

Actually I was alluding to several classic Zombie movies not the comics.

I just watched this one "on demand" and there was no preview for the next episode. Is this the last one until next season?

ETA: "Bing"ed it and found a short preview of #14. They better find a way to get some/all of these disconnected groups back together.

1) Buckhead really isn't a suburb, at least not in the urban sprawl sense. Considering how the downtown Atlanta area was when Rick left, I would think this would be a difficult area to hold. It will be interesting to see how it's set up if they indeed have taken over Buckhead.
I'm thinking something like the CSX Railroad Yard on Boulevard or something resembling the Amtrak Station on Peachtree when i think of Terminus. I could be completely off base though.

I read online that Terminus is in Macon. There are multiple railroads that converge there in real life. Could just be speculation.

When the F are we going to see where Rick's group is at?

Were those bikers that picked up Daryl the same group that was in the house with Rick?

I'm not exactly one that pays ultra attention to details so I didn't really notice if I recognized any of them. But the consensus in the thread is that yeah, seems to be the same group - I think some posters recognized at least one of the guys from the group in the house with Rick.
