mack the knife jr #1 has a used 20ga 1100 that works well as long as it is kept CLEAN. however, on the first 6-12 shots or so after cleaning it will fail to cycle properly. once the gun gets shot a few times it works perfectly, like it needs to warm up. anyone ever see this or have input?

Then I've got nothing

If the ports are clean and everything else is clean, it might just be worn out if it's been shot a whole lot.

its been shot a lot. but like i said, it works fine once it "warms up". shot 6-7 boxes yesterday w/o a prob after getting the first few shots out of the way.

Well this is simple then. Pass a torch over it before you start shooting.

What you using to clean it with, maybe you are using too much oil.

I am fairly certain that the 1100 is gas operated. Might want to use some seafoam when you fill it up again.

It's a remington 1100.

Take it to RobRoy in Loranger. He tore my 1187 down completely, changed two or three things and put it back together in 30 minutes I bet. It shoots better and faster than I remember it shooting new.

I have changed from Rem Oil to CLP because it does a much better job at just about everything. It may be worth changing lubes.

You could also detail strip it and clean as many of the small parts as possible. I would guess there may be some buildup in the gas port.

WD-40 is for fixing squeaky hinges. I myself won't let WD40 anywhere near my guns. There's too many better alternatives out there. Of course thats just my opinion and usually worth what folks pay for it. I'm a big believer in CLP

My Beneli was slow and sticky towards the end of duck season. Did not want to take hte time to clean it. I washed it out with WD 40 and it was good to go. I use it as a part washer not a rust preventer or lubricator. I use a light oil for that.
