We both know I'm correct.

Now how about that flight...the other day you were all worried we weren't doing enough to defend the downtrodden people of the Ukraine. Surely, you have booked that flight.

I see the isolationists/Ron Paulites frequently cite Russia's history and association with the Crimea as reason to leave this conflict alone. My question is where does this stop? How much land can Putin take because they used to own it? The rus people originated in kyiv and Ukraine was part of imperial Russia the ussr etc do they get to take it all? How bout Finland?

I'm not arguing to invade the Crimea, but to gloss over this invasion and disruption of sovereignty of an ally just because those people "have a history with Russia" seems short sighted.

My question is: what US interests are being harmed from this invasion? Should we publicly condemn this? Obviously. But why should we get involved militarily or economically?

Serious question.

I never troll. I do however enjoy pointing out each and every bit of hypocrisy you and your friends spew.

And you make it very very easy.

It's difficult for us to understand here because the US is a nation created within a political boundary whereas Europe is a host of political boundaries that surround nations of people. The rise of nationalism in Europe is an engrossing topic.

Yup, best class I ever took in college was about this topic. Fascinating, how it effected early 20th century europe (and was the cause of more then one war).

I really don't think it's complicated at all. The more I look at it the more I think Putin is just on a blatant landgrab.

I disagree.

And another angle yet to be discussed is the Crimean's political wishes. Crimea is a very pro-Russia peninsula. If popular desire is to be annexed into Russia, does that change your opinion?

No one is worshiping Putin. We are, however, embarrassed about how weak he's making our president look.

What in the frick should our president be doing?

Loading up the cargo planes?

Moving carrier battle groups into the region?

Launching the nukes?

It's the fricking Ukraine. At the end of the day no one really gives a shite about it.

This is just an excuse for you guys to pile on Obama...and the sad thing is...you look stupid doing it.

Did Bush lift a finger when the Russians attacked Georgia?

The hypocrisy here is incredible.

Would you be in favor of Mexico re-annexing the American southwest if popular sentiment in that region demanded it?

About people on this board "worshipping Putin"???

If that's what you think you're "correct" about, you're nuts.

War or revolution was constant in Europe for 1000 years. Nationalism was just one reason among thousands.

Is 60% of Southwest US ethnic-Mexicans? Is an autonomous republic within the US? Was it under Mexican control a generation ago?

Not a very apt comparison.

For the record, I don't support Russia's actions here. Just pointing out that this rabbit hole is much, much deeper than a "land grab."

I'm sure you don't care about most of the world. Some of us are intelligent enough to see the big picture.

Its geography alone makes Crimea important on a global level.

Ah yes...so you have not one fricking clue what he should be doing...instead you deflect it because he violated the dress code of the oval office.

This is why no one takes you seriously.
