i get a little fired up about this. wdtv is the only open and free tv box out there i know about.

everything else is infested with a bunch of caveats as to why they only support like 2 video and audio formats.

in other words, if you're fine with shitty quality video & audio format, by all means go with what apple or google or microsoft provide you.


ps yes i have a chromecast too..i like it for our bedroom tv because we just watch netflix on it.

the wdtv is my downstairs premium 1080p true HD surround system.
