What was the cost? Pros and cons? Is it worth it? I'm tired of wearing contacts

$1500 an eye. All pros, no cons. Yes.

I hate contacts. My eye doctor told me a couple weeks ago that I could get LASIK now because my Rx hasnt changed in years. So I am pretty stoked

Best money ever spent. Did it in 1999 at LSU medical. Have had 20/15 vision ever since. I had 20/400 going in. I couldn't even read the big E at the top of an eye chart.

How long does it take to recover? Can you return to work within a few days? I'm not interested in wasting a week of vacation for something like that

Yep. I got it done on a Friday morning and went to a sorority event on Saturday. No down time. Maybe have a little hazy vision for like 3 days, but nothing that doesn't allow you to function the next day.

Did it on a Friday and was good after a night's sleep. Only missed one day.

I know a few people who have had it done. They all have had to have it redone. One fella still has to wear reading glasses. That's why I haven't had it .

Reading glasses are still common to those who've had lasik. It will fix your vision at distances though. I had it done at 21 and at 26 I still have very good vision.
It would be worth it to me to get it done every 5-10 years if that's what it took. I see way better than I ever did with contacts.

I was back to work the next day. My eyes were bloodshot but I could see just fine.

$2500 for both eyes at Williamson. I flexed the money so never really missed it. No cons, best money ever spent.

You won't find someone who has had it that regrets it. Do it. Worth every dime, and for God's sake don't bargain shop. This is your eyes we're talking about here. One of the best decisions I've ever made.

Yes. Best money I ever spent. I think it was $1400 an eye. I have had glasses since 3rd grade. Every morning I wake up and think about how awesome it is that I can immediately open my eyes and see and not fumble around for glasses on the nightstand.
eta: Don't bargain shop. Find THE BEST. Your vision is too important to scrimp on. I had mine done on a Friday and I was normal the next day. But to be on the safe side, I stayed in bed on Saturday and kept my eyes closed most of the day. I had to put eye drops in my eyes for about a year, but I rarely have to do so anymore. The procedure took 15 minutes.

Does your Rx have to be stable long enough to do it? I don't go to the eye doctor regularly. I wait until they won't give me any contacts because they say its been too long. Usually about every 2-3 years and my Rx has changed every time I go
