I had lasik done about a year ago. I was -5.5 and -6.5 with a very slight astigmatism. See perfect now without anything. Best decision I've made. I had it done on a Tuesday afternoon and drove myself to work the next morning with no glasses. I did the top of the line thing. Can't remember the exact name. Bladeless wavefront or something like that. Went so quick the Valium hadn't even kicked in yet. I used Dr. Singer in Metairie.

~2500 per eye, but at a top-of-the-line doc & a location i could walk to from my house at the time. also they got me in for my screening + actual procedure in a total of 3 days. so i didn't mind paying more per eye
i had a very irritating feeling in my eyes for the following 24 hours. however i was able to make a 9 hour drive (partially at night) the day after that
still better than 20/20 after 3 years- best fricking money i ever spent
eta: previously was worse than 20/100 in both eyes + astigmatism

So Dr. Woo, Williamson, and Singer did everyone here? Any other recommendations?

I was going to start a thread like this. Thanks for all the info.

I did it, and I love it. No way would I have been willing to go back to work the next day. Two days later maybe.
I have no idea what it cost because I didn't even take cost into consideration; probably the only decision in my life where I would say that.

like i said on the first page, Scott Nelson did mine a month ago. He's a partner with Singer.
Nelson has been my eye doc for 20 yrs, wouldn't trust anyone else.

Had mine done 2 years ago in June. I had to get my right eye "enhanced" because I was still seeing about 20/30 9 months post op, but that was a personal choice. I just went for my final followup in Feb and I read 3 letters on the 20/10 line
They said I was about 20/400 before surgery. I would do it again in a heartbeat, and I wish I had done it 5 years ago.
