Because, at best without the qb situation we were in. He was maybe third string in any other era of LSU football period. Marcus Randall was perhaps the only qb in LSU history worse at being a QB than Jefferson period.

Guys that have won the Heisman as a QB in college aren't good enough to be a backup in the NFL, what makes you think JJ's dumb arse would be one?

Because he sucked as a QB, was borderline mentally retarded, and has self entitlement issues. That's why.

There are guys who win the Heisman Trophy who are not good enough to be a backup in the NFL.

He lasted a week at Tampa Bay, and then headed to the CFL, there he made the practice squad of the Montreal Alouettes, 4th QB.

Then remember his arrest on drug charges?
I don't know when he was released by the Alouettes but he apparently didn't last a season.

Next stop was Arena Football League, he signed on last season with the Pittsburgh Power playing six games in 2013.

However from the 2014 Pittsburgh Power website:

"The first thought that we had going into the offseason was that at every position, we have to get better," Stingley said.

It didn't take long to decide on which position to target first. The team needed a quarterback.
So, the first move of the offseason was to land Tommy Grady.

"Getting Tommy was huge for us," Stingley said. "This is the first time in this franchise's history where we have what we believe to be a franchise, top-notch quarterback."

and finally from the same site:

"Since joining the AFL in 2011, Pittsburgh has seen 12 different signal-callers line up behind center. Some have been big name college stars like Bryan Randall and Jordan Jefferson. Others have been local products like Pitt's Bill Stull and Penn State's Anthony Morelli. They've even had multi-threat players like Bernard Morris and Xavier Lee, both of whom have seen time at other positions as well.

Unfortunately, thanks to injuries and inconsistency, Pittsburgh quarterbacks have all been rendered generally ineffective."

Apparently the Pittsburgh Power of the Arena Football League was not impressed.
So it's not just us Ranters.

Great question. The answer is earthed somewhere under I-10. If you take your time checking each crack carefully, I'm sure you can find it. But make sure you make a thorough search.

I think there were obvious reasons he didn't make an NFL team, but people are quick to bash on a kid that was a few wins away from being the all-time wins leader as a starting qb at LSU. He was a pure running qb, not a pocket passer though. That was the team we had when he was here, great defenses with a great running game.

I have an autistic cousin that reads this site and hopefully he never posts here. What if you met Roho at a tailgate and he was obviously mentally handicapped and asked that question? Would this be your response? Damn
