Why are CCPs So Expensive in Mississippi?

$132 for the initial application.
$82 for each renewal.
Obviously this doesn't take into account the cost of an NRA class to earn an enhanced carry sticker.
Seems excessive for a poor state like MS.

It's more expensive in Louisiana than that. I agree that it's borderline criminal for them to make you pay money to exercise a constitutional right.

I don't think it's that expensive, and renewal isn't for five years after your first issuance.

If people had to fill out a form and pay a fee to the state in order attend church, vote, or write a letter to the editor, there would be insurrection in this country.
I don't understand why the Second Amendment is treated differently than any of the other rights that are confirmed in the Constitution. Fundamental rights should not be "allowed" by the government based on the ability to pay by the governed.
