The OP is a fricking idiot and should be required to wear a condom everytime he ejaculates for the rest of his life unless it's by hand. This is not CJJ's first game and we are not very well coached. If that is not apparent then you need more help than the resident rantard psychologists can give you. He was 500 in a mid major conference and will not be much better here. He has shown no signs of turning this program around. Maybe a good asst may help but that is asking a lot.

Our fans can be great, then there are a bunch that are just fricking retarded... Unfortunately it's more of the latter...

See the post above mine for a fine example of plain stupid..

fricking brilliant. Makes total sense too. I mean, it's not like Johnny inherited some shite program that had trouble winning 14 games the season prior, suffered massive losses to transfer, and had to start a JUCO transfer who is 6'5 190 at the 4. We should fire all of our coaches after 3 years if they aren't able to immediately rebuild our program and turn them into contenders. Who gives a frick if it puts our program into an endless shite spiral, nobody cares about basketball anyway. We'll just tear down the PMAC and build more parking lots.

Also very few have saiod fire him

We point out mistakes that he he should fix and hasnt isnt screaming for a firing. Knowing where to stand on defense is y a talent issue. He has to fix that and I dont see how heis being defended from it

I know right!! I can't wait for the day when he has a team that has 4 returning starters (one of whom being an All-Conf. first teamer) and a top 10 recruiting class that featured 3 of the top 75 players in the country! If that day ever comes, look out!!!

Oh wait....

Best season for us since the 08-09 year. And the only reason we were good that year was because Trent Johnson inherited a team with Temple, Thornton, Taz, and Chris Johnson. After thsoe guys left, we were horrible.

What team did Johnny Jones inherit? 2 5'10 PGs that are very streaky and a solid big. Thats it. Hes the reason we got Martin and Mickey. And hes the reason why we have arguably the #1 player in the nation for 2015.

Im not saying that im not disappointed this year or whatever. But this is nowhere near the finished product for CJJ. If Mickey and Martin stay, hopefully they do, next year is the year that really matters and the pressure will be on CJJ.

Go look at the games we lost. Who hurt us the most from the other team? It was their guards. Henderson, Releford, McRae, Harrison, etc. Why is that? Because we are short at the guard position. Even when we go zone, its hard for Mickey and Stringer to guard 6'3+ guards. Its easy for those guys to shoot over our guards and penetrate the zone because our guards are tiny.

And I love Hickey and Stringer. They were here for some tough years and gave it all they had. But their inconsistent scoring and inability to defend majority of guards playing D1 basketball is a huge reason why we fell short of expectations this season.

Also, people had unrealistic expectations for us this year. I get we had 1 of our best incoming classes this year and we should be excited for that. But when was the last time a team with 2 guards under 5'10 make a run in the tourney? And Mickey and Martin are great. But are still freshman. And Martin had a high ankle sprain in the 1st few minutes of the 1st game of the season. He missed the most important part of the season for his development. And look at how well he has played these last few weeks.

Im not making excuses, because I am somewhat disappointed. But its not like I expected us to be a sweet 16 team like a lot of people did.

If we keep Martin and Mickey, next year is the big year for me with CJJ. Thats the year with the big time pressure. Tim Quartermans development is going to be huge.

Since you are by your own admission smarter than most of here please enlighten us and tell us specifically what about CJJ's experience and accomplishments leads you to believe that he can contend on a regular basis for conference championships and perhaps a national championship. All of us stupid fans are waiting with tigerbaited breath!

Just let CJJ get more than one recruiting class in here before you call for his head. Only a handful of players on this team are his players

Not saying to fire him it's just that what he is putting on the floor leaves a lot to be desired. It is not like he does not have talent. Do you think that if this team were coached by Donovan that the results are the same as what we are seeing?

Damn. If we only had a 6'5 senior guard to insert in the starting lineup to play at the top of the zone then I bet teams wouldn't get to the rim at will against LSU. Oh well, maybe next year.

It is the "midget" guards fault though. Wasnt this team absolute dog shite on defense last year too? But hey, its common knowlege that no team can win big with sub-6'0 guards. I mean when was the last time a team with a short back court won consistently? They certainly could NEVER do anything in NCAAT play. Just look at Louisville last year. Their backcourt featured....

Yes. He was in this same situation with his same team that's on the floor now for him. They grew up.

Donovan starts 4 seniors and a sophomore plus a deep arse bench.CJJ has only 6 maybe 7 players that gives us quality minutes right now since Malik Morgan ( our best perimeter defender.)

If CJJ gets the opportunity, we'll have a chance to have a team that's as good of a team as Florida in 2 years with his great recruiting

Louisville featured Peyton Siva and Russ Smith. Siva - 6'1 with a 6'3 wingspan and a 42inch vert. Smith is 6'0 and 1 of the best guards in the country. Both guys are over 6ft tall with a longer wing span. And both guys are way more talented than our Mickey and Stringer.

So your argument about Louisville really does nothing. I asked when was the last time that a team with 2 5'10 guards made a run in the tourney? I cant remember. And Siva and Smith are both over 6ft tall, not 5'10.

Either you want him to stay or get fired. There's no other way.

Its too early to fire Jones. Lets support the man, he clearly deserves at least another year. You can ride his mid conference record but he rejuvenated the N. Texas program and put people in the seats.

Coach K was 38-47 his first 3 years with Duke, and he turned out pretty good.

Coach Jones is doing pretty good considering the state of the basketball program when he arrived. I think over the course of the next 3 years we become a pretty decent club that gets to the NCAA Tournament on a regular basis.

The idiots that think we should all of a sudden beat the #1 team in the nation and compete on a National level immediately are just that, idiots. This team will be pretty good the next few years.

I agree.

I think JJ is going to make LSU into a program similar to how Kentucky has been under Calipari. Teams that make deep runs in the tourney one year and barely miss it the next. Kentucky's team this year is what I believe Johnny will have us at next year or possibly the year after that. Talented team that lacks basketball IQ in different situations.
The main reason why Kentucky won the National Title a couple years ago was how high of basketball IQ they had. They were loaded with elite talent (something JJ will do at LSU), but they won their games because they were incredibly smart decision makers.

LSU has decent talent on their team this year, but majority of these players badly lack basketball IQ.

I guess the only honest answer is for the fans to swallow our frustrations and ride this out for another 3 seasons before we make the NCAA's.

Patience is a virtue I suppose ?
