I'm sure many of you are/were students at LSU at some point. What would have said the best 4 years possible to be in the student section were? 90s obviously exciting baseball. mid 2000s exciting football. late 80s/early 90s good basketball
im ending my time here, and it's been great. Just wish a few more things would have fallen right, in regards to athletics

2006 - 2009
3 major sports with huge years.
Throw in a few women's final fours.

86 to 90 definitely the best.

Definitely before Nikki Caldwell got here.
06-09 is a solid window though.

This gets my vote, especially since I was a student for that entire time period. Saw a final four, football natty, baseball natty, and a saints superbowl, all as a student. Not sure there is much argument for any other time in LSU sports.

I'm biased because it was when I was a student there but '84-89 was pretty good. Football was consistently good (not great) but exciting nonetheless going to two Sugar Bowls for the first time in over 20 years, Baseball was just getting started but went to its first CWS in that period, and Basketball was excellent - a final 4 and round of eight appearance. That '86 team's run was as exciting as any sports period for LSU I can remember. Just my opinion though.

I'm voting for 2000-2003.
Baseball Natty
Men's Sweet 16 run
2003 Natty Run > 2007 Natty Run
Also the years I was a student.

It sure wasn't back when it was 0/11 vs Bama, Doc Hontas practiced Tiger Proctology, or Jerry letting Vegas Vince get control of the Rag.
I'm sure some Curley era grads will chime in.
If you'd have told anyone back then we'd start out the 21st Century winning 9/15 over Bama, you'd have been fit for a straightjacket.
These are good times, enjoy.

75 - 79... We tied no. 1 Nebraska... We lost to no. 1 USC... We beat Bama... no scratch that... Bama beat us all 4 years... The four years I was in college sucked. I nominate them for the worst 4 years instead !!!

1984-1987
Great years for football and basketball seasons ... baseball program was building a great foundation as well.

Bama losses were sure as sunrises, but losing respectability in our own state?
Hate to admit they had a pretty good squad then.

You act like she took over a program who was a well oiled machine. She hasn't earned her salary yet but she is the reason for that decline. Van overplaying at the Uclub was the major problem
2006-2009 was just awesome. Final Fours, National titles in football, baseball, and track. Plus was it 2009 or 2010 both the men's and women's golf teams were #1 at the same time?
