I will be there from March 19-26 and have a few things planned. Going to a couple of spring training games, Sedona, and perhaps river rafting. Is the river rafting any good? Know of any good sports bars? Staying in North Scottsdale....

I understand why lizards live in Scottsdale Arizona. Why people do and they call it home I'll never understand.

March is best time of year to go IMO. Spring training is awesome. Go see a game and make your way to old town right after to drink (bars will be more packed after the games...all the tourists flock there during spring training).

If you wanna golf buy your SO a bunch of spa treatments.....there are a ton of resorts with spas here. That will keep her busy for a few hours.

Scottsdale Fashion square for shopping

Old town Scottsdale for restaurants, bars and clubs, many if which are walking distance to each other.

Sedona is amazing and worth a day trip there.

Weather is great this time of year so lots of hiking y'all can do out here.

Kierland Commons and The Quarter are both nice shopping areas close to North Scottsdale that has shops and nice restaurants. Ipic theater is in The Quarter and is the nicest movie theater you will ever go to.

As for river rafting.....no clue.

If you have never been to the Grand Canyon I suggest making a day trip there. It's a 4 hour drive from Scottsdale. I've done it as a daytrip several times when family has come to visit me. It's a long day, but totally doable. Drive there early am, spend some time at the South Rim(lots of shuttles to go from different viewpoints but wear good shoes to do lots of walking in) and then drive back. Everyone should see the Grand Canyon at least once in their lifetime, it's that amazing and photographs can not do it justice. If you got $$....arrange for a helicopter tour there(you need to do this in advance...try these guys LINK). Usually like $200-250 a person and about an hour long but you will get views of the canyon you'll never see just from the rim. Worth it imo.

DON'T do the Skywalk. I've never done it but it's much further out than the more popular South Rim of the GC and a total rip off from what I've been told. There is nothing else around there and it's not like you can just hang out and look over the canyon after you are done with the skywalk. They won't let you bring your own cameras on the skywalk and instead charge you money to buy their pictures. They charge $$$ just to enter the area(it's on tribe owned land) and then more $$$ to do the skywalk.

kings of leon will be playing PHX March 19.

Old town Scottsdale will probably have a lot going on. If you want to take your woman to a nice meal in that area try
Bandera
or
The Mission
There are a ton of great restaurants in old town , but these two are some of my favorites.
if you are adventurous and want to try some food from my motherland and don't mind going to the a somewhat shady area , try Pupusas

if you want to travel some to different areas in the valley, these are all great bars
San Tan Brewery
in chandler san marcos area
Four Peaks Brewery
in tempe close to ASU
Tops
in tempe close to ASU
Pappago
in scottsdale
Angel's Trumpet Ale House
downtown PHX

Oh and the rafting, I am guessing it is floating the Verde River
There are suppose to be bald eagles on that bitch!

lots of good restaurants are popping up all over the place

if you make it over to the Arcadia area (mile and a half from Scottsdale Mall) try Chelsea's Kitchen, North, and The Henry. Won't be disappointed by any of those.

And to those talking about the heat here, just remember, when you're sweating your balls off in BR, that's when it's hot here. The rest of the time it's 65-85 and perfect

It absolutely is worth the drive to go and climb Camelback. "Urban hiking" is a huge thing in Arizona and really cool. Get some awesome pictures on top of the mountain

They just built a brand new spring training complex off of Loop 101 in North Scottsdale. Incredibly nice

The most popular ones in North Scottsdale are Zipps (Arizona chain) and then there is Goldies which is owned by the same people but the original

If you golf, there is some of the world's best golf courses out there. My uncle golfed in college and he spends half his time golfing out here
