I am an amateur photographer. I shoot landscape and street scenes.

A friend of mine contacted me to do her daughter's wedding this weekend. I first told her no because a wedding photographer and a street photographer are two different animals.

After telling me about the other photographer that will be at the wedding (a family member of her ex-husband) and how that when she did her other daughter's wedding, all the pictures were of her ex-husband's side of the family and the mother of the bride was left out of most images, I told her I would do it for free (for the practice) but don't be mad if I do not get one good image.

I have seen the other photographer's stuff, she is not that good, looks like she used a point and shoot.

I have high-end amateur equipment, nearly $6000 just in bodies, speedlites, and lenses. I know a good professional camera body runs $6000+ by itself.

Some people here mention "Facebook Pro Photographers" (thats what I call them). If you do not follow even the basic of photography rules of composition, lighting, etc, you will never get a good image.

More like $3,400 but still freaking expensive.
