That's a really odd position. The only young professional I know who habitually smokes dope is a lawyer. I don't know anybody else who I would call a professional who smokes dope.

You must not get out much.

No shite? I was wondering if companies would bend in those states.

Just curious, do you work for a national/international company or local?

Anyone know if this works for alcohol screening in hair tests also?

Dont get too comfortable, because that wont last long.

Alcohol is legal in my state, but if I come to work wasted, guess what?

The first time someone on the job in CO causes damage while being high, all employers will be required to test. By their insurers

No not really but I work international. They don't care about these things. In on a 5/5 schedule anyway. I could just stop smoking halfway through my time off if I wanted to be safe. We only get UAs.

You must be either old or really dumb. Pot use is practically ubiquitous among young professionals.

Drug users telling non-users they are dumb really takes the cake! There is absolutely no reason (other than medical) to have to use drugs...period!

Because it's fun isn't a reason?

No it isn't. If it makes you feel better about yourself to say that it is then so be it. I am a young professional and I can say I don't do drugs. Ditto with my wife. Ditto with the people I work with. I took a drug test for my job when I started with a major oil and gas company.

I'm actually a genius (140-something IQ)... which leads to a kind of narcissism that makes it hard for me to follow rules without question. I'm also financially stable with multiple income streams (income properties), so I'm not as scared as some when it comes to being extorted into changing my personal life for the interests of others, leading to behaviors others consider 'risky'. My family is happy and healthy. My wife is a professional and smokes daily, as do many of the young people that I've worked with in professional environments- engineers, nurses, doctors, lawyers, business owners, medical students, etc.

This position is not even that big of a deal. If I don't pass, I'll just game the urinalysis of the next opportunity. I'm simply using the next few years of income to grow my rental property business into an operation that's self sustainable.
You are ignorant and scared. I'm just brash. I'll take brash any day.

I've heard of it before, but it's usually a piss test. Some companies require occasional tests to make sure their workers aren't drinking / drunk / hungover on the job.

Hair testing wouldn't make sense in that situation, but I have heard from some people that hair testing for alcohol is sometimes used in DWI diversion programs / court-ordered alcohol monitoring.

Alcohol and prescription drugs kill hundreds of thousands of people a year. A huge percentage of all prescription drugs are ineffective, or not needed. Weed is practically harmless. You should read more often, or watch more news. Idiots like yourself are a dying breed. You must be one boring count.

Attitudes like this do not help the pot smoker image. It would still be against company policy if it was legal just to piss off people like yourself.

Don't worry about this is just a side effect of THC, I have never known a pot head that didn't think they were a genius.

Seems like a genius should be able to figure this one out, no?

I've heard of guys just flat out saying "no" to hair test and the boss letting them hold it off for a few months. The rule, as I know it, is that employers can't go back any farther than 90 days with a hair test.
