Would it be safe to say Harris has just as string an arm as Mett ? Everyone says that Harris can make all the throws needed just like Mett.

And if so, would Harris be about the same talent wise as Mett was when he came to LSU ?

QBs are so hard to project, highly rated guys always fail. Mett was much more proven considering he was even with Murry at UGA (possibly ahead) when he got kicked off team then he went on to destroy JUCO secondaries. The only thing Harris has proven is he can dominate high school. Anyone can see the arm strength, but hopefully he has other attributes necessary to be a great college QB.

As far as rankings, Harris is a higher rated player as opposed to Mett in his class.

A lot of scouts are saying Harris is the real deal. As far as arm strength, Harris can wing it just like Mett could. He has a rocket arm. He's more mobile than Mett and if Cam Cameron can develop him between the ears, Harris has a chance to be really really special. Physically he has all the tools.

In defense of the OP, NO we are
A football school and excited for the young talent. Let's face it not matter the season LSU football is talked about around every water cooler all year long. Don't post in a football thread if you don't like talking about it during other sports seasons. See that wasn't hard was it.

You can have the strongest arm in the world. It doesn't mean shite if you can't hit your target. Arm strength is necessary. Accuracy is more important

I think Mett has a stronger arm, but not as quick a release as Harris, though Harris will get stronger.

Big questions about whether Harris has accuracy and decision-making at this stage.

I honestly don't understand why Jennings seems to be a non-issue with some of you. He has more experience and by all accounts is smart, plus he will have an experienced line and LF in the backfield. Don't write off Jennings. Kid's got a lot of poise.

Two reasons. One, the new toy is ALWAYS better than the one you've already had, especially to the Rant. Two, Jennings didn't show anything against Iowa that proved he should be the unquestioned starter. Whoever Cam chooses, will have earned their spot. LSU is in an ideal situation with tons of talent.

What are all the Fart Knockers going to do if Cam chooses Rettig? Mercy Mercy Me, there will be a Meltdown!

Rettig and Rivers are still on the team, huh? They didn't go running off with their tails tucked between their legs because so many of the Rant X-Box Experts think they should transfer because they're not "Athletic" enough.

I think Rettig has a much better chance than Harris. People forget just how talented he is. He has a stronger arm than Jennings too.

Jennings : Did not have a great Bowl Game . Sure has fast feet , JJ had fast feet .

Yep, every LSU player is as good or better than their predecessor. This fact has held true since the inception of the rant.

I think Rettig has a great shot. It's funny that most are counting him out. FWIW, I love baseball but please STFU about "wrong season"
And "wait til spring"

QB needs more than just a strong arm. Need to read the defense, anticipate where the open receiver will be, make a proper drop with correct footwork, set feet and release on time and put the ball in the right spot at the right time. Also, need to be able to feel the rush, move in the pocket to buy time and keep looking downfield knowing you'll probably get hit after you release the ball.

Most importantly, you have to do that at game speed, not just practice speed. J. Lee and JJ struggled at game speed. I hope that Miles gives two or three of our QBs snaps early in the season and plays the one who performs best in real games rather than picking a starter based on practice performance and letting the others stand around on the sidelines.
