I remember back in the mid-forties that my grandfather telling us what a dangerous book it was.

He said you had to be careful reading it.

really? Thomas Paine? I thought the Age of Reason was amusing at best from a theological/scriptural standpoint. I haven't read it in a while. It's on my shelf, so maybe I'll reread soon.

Ironic considering the fact that Paine was a Deist.
