I wonder if Matthews speaks highly of Sharpton, Maxine Waters or Shelia Jackson Lee in private. If I had to guess I bet he thinks they are morons, but he can use them to promote his ideology.
A friend of mine was the former chief of staff of a northeast Senator. I asked her what her boss and other Senators thought about certain elected officials and she said they all thought they were morons. So even when these idiots espouse dumb stuff those in their party have to remain silent.

In all seriousness, I wonder what is going to happen in a state like Texas, whose white, Republican population is as conservative as it gets--when they become so outnumbered by non-white Democrats intent on the kind of income re-distribution that is anathema to conservative whites--that they lose control of their own destiny.
I use Texas as an example, because it will be the first "red" state in which whites become a minority of the population.
But the same question could apply to the South as a whole and the nation as a whole.
Could we see another serious Secessionist movement?

Nah, we'll have something like South Africa. The ruling lower class majority realizes that they can't just wipe out the higher class minority because they'll all starve to death.
Similar situation in Malaysia. The low class Malays majority has cut way back on oppressing the upper class minority Indians/Chinese because they're the only ones producing stuff.
