All states have amazing places and amazing people.

And all states have elements of politics and socioeconomic strata that are not so amazing.

Where people live is usually determined by where they were raised, their social mobility, and what they are looking for in life, careers, recreation.

I enjoy both Louisiana AND California for different reasons.

Been to Blacks Beach in San Diego and Trestles in Orange County to surf. Me and the family have a great time every time we head that way. Probably will retire there in a few years.

Kind of like Colorado. Over half the state is more like Kansas than the image people have of Co.

What I said is true. I agree that there are insufferable people in California. My point is that there are insufferable people in Louisiana as well. Not liking a certain "style" of person is not grounds for passing judgement on an entire state.

I wouldn't mine one day putting a trailer on a piece of property in the mountains of cali. I asked my uncle a while back if he would ever think about moving his trailer that we live in out west. He laughed. Too many queers he said. Makes since I guess.

The way you say it makes you one of the insufferable ones. What answers did you really expect from here? You made Thai thread just waiting to start your "I"' better than you southern plant operators" bullshite.

Let me remind your California also has Stanford and Berkeley. There are other great schools in SoCal besides USC (UCLA, Cal Poly), so don't judge an entire state by one freaking school. A lot of people in Cali also don't like USC and especially Pete Carroll.

Now, the state...I live in the bay area, because it happens to be one the most educated/smart places in the world (you can actually talk to people), its got the great mild summer weather and it's amazingly close to beautiful vacation spots (Tahoe, Napa, Yosemite, Big Sur etc).

Louisiana has quite a few things going for it too (New Orleans), the neighboring states are quite frankly jealous of the bayou culture, so enjoy what you have.

No, why would I start a thread just to say that, but you should finish your sandwich and go back to doing plant things.

Yeah, but it's different personalities that make them insufferable. The image of many people from Cali is just that they think they're better than everyone else, and that's largely what makes others resent them. If you've ever dealt with somebody from Cali who was transplanted elsewhere, chances are they can't go 5 minutes without somehow shoehorning the fact that they're from California into the convo.

I was there for a year and I can honestly say that apart from the weather and San Diego, I liked nothing about that terrible state. The people aren't friendly, and the girls aren't hot. They're mostly just west coast trash.
