I too will be in PDX that weekend. I would be down to meet up with fellow tiger fans. Everything I've read has said EAT is the place tiger fans go. That's where I will be unless something else is suggested/decided through this thread.

Well looks like this thread is accomplishing exactly what I wanted it to. Well done OT.

Everyone always says that it costs more to live here. The thing that most people don't realize is that you also make more money here than you would elsewhere. This may not be true for all occupations but for most it is true.

The taxes are high. Trust me I just got my w-2 and I got bent over on taxes. It's worth paying the higher taxes when you realize how amazingly beautiful the Bay Area is. In any given day I can go to the coast, Tahoe, Yosemite, and one of the greatest cities in the world. I'll pay a higher tax to live in an area where people all over the world save up to spend a week.

Thank you. That mindset is all I'm trying to understand.
We need to get this thread back to the first page!

True. It was just getting past the childish name calling part too. I thought we might actually have something happening here.

Well that's pretty ignorant.

So the reason for the hate is that people in California think they are smarter than people in the south?

Touché.
My point isn't to put down Louisiana or the south. I constantly defend the south. I love the south. I wouldn't trade growing up in the south for anything. I'm just trying to understand why there is such a negative view of California by a lot of people on this board.

It's just a numbers game. A lot more people in California than Louisiana.

That guy is not helping the conversation. He is just being defensive rather than trying to understand why he feels the way he does.

I agree with you. When I first moved out here I thought Californians were terrible. I was selling wine when I first moved out here. Out of fear for people thinking I didn't know what I was talking about I wouldn't tell people where I was from. I would say "I'm from the south." People that were from California (mainly SoCal) would say, "oh so your from like la Orange County?"
This drove me up a fricking wall. Yes there are those people here. There are also a lot of great people as well. The catch is that it takes longer to find the good people

No, why would I start a thread just to say that, but you should finish your sandwich and go back to doing plant things.

What I said is true. I agree that there are insufferable people in California. My point is that there are insufferable people in Louisiana as well. Not liking a certain "style" of person is not grounds for passing judgement on an entire state.

This isn't a grammar contest. I'm on a phone just making points. I'm sure analyzing grammar and spelling will take you very far in life. Keep up the good work.
