IRS claiming my daughter's SSN is invalid

I filed our taxes Friday via H&R Block and received an email Saturday stating my daughter’s SSN is invalid. She was born 5 months ago and we have never had to use her SSN for anything before. So I doubled checked the numbers last night and I had entered in the correct numbers. I called the Social Security Admin this morning and the woman I spoke with insisted I was making a mistake and they were never wrong. She finally did verify the number was a valid number. One hour after I called, my wife called and they said the same response, we were making a mistake when we entered in her SSN into H&R Block. The woman my wife spoke with said the number was invalid.
My wife and I both typed in the SSN into a free lookup site and said it was an invalid number whereas our two SSN at the same website came back as valid numbers.
What can we do? Will we have to bring my daughter’s SS card and birth certificate to the Social Security office to prove them wrong?

I think I would have posed that question to the SS office. If you were unable to resolve the issue over the phone and you were certain the mistake was not on your end, I would have asked what next steps should be.

They should be able to send you a letter verifying this. That should be all you would need to submit with the return.

you want to call and request that from the jokers i have talked to today? I guess my next call is to the IRS so I can file a paper return
