Did Brett Favre's 29 INT season affect his legacy?

Or his mediocre last few seasons in the league (except one good season in between)? The last time I checked he had only one Super Bowl win and one less trip than Manning to the big game. Also Favre was known for throwing the ball to the wrong team in big games.
So why does Peyton Manning face undue criticism and inquiry over his post season record? Why is Peyton held to a higher standard than all other quarterbacks?

Favre didnt know when to quit. Maning does, but Peyton's still got it. Favre was good enough to start, but too old to compete.

Most don't consider Favre a top five quarterback of all-time. And yes, it does affect his legacy.

Favre' screwup against NO in the dome also cemented his "I throw it to the wrong team a lot" legacy.
I don't see anyone calling Favre the GOAT.

Yes. Nobody mentions Favre as a top 5 all time QB because of stuff like this. Peyton is top 10 for sure but if you want to crack that top 5 it's a much higher standard and rightfully so.

I would still pick Brett over Peyton if I had a choice leading into a Super Bowl though.

If he had won more super bowls(or at least 1 more) he'd definitely be top 5. That "gunslinger" moniker hurt him, imo.

Just like Favre throwing pick after pick and making stupid decisions.
I swear some of you guys are only agenda based and have no perspective.
Favre = Gunslinger. Stupid decisions lots of times. Great QB.
Manning = Smart as QBs get. Folds under pressure.

Favre was a gunslinger his entire career.
He has never entered GOAT discussions. EVER.
He probably would have played better than Peyton today at the age of 44.
