If a repub gets elected, we at least have a chance to get some people with a little common sense appointed to judgeships and positions of power within the federal government.

If we just don't vote or hold out because the "perfect" conservative isn't in the running, we will end up with Hillary, which will basically be like having Obama for another 4 years.

Absolutely correct. There is no perfect GOP candidate out there right now.

Particularly Cabinet positions. These people wield tremendous power in terms of how their agencies operate, spend money, formulate regulations and use/abuse political clout. Ousting Dems from control of the Justice Dept, the State Dept, the Labor Dept, and the Environmental Protection Agency, for starters, would go a long way in reigning in an out-of-control federal bureaucracy.
