While Aaron Freeman may have put to rest his "Gene Ween" persona, Freeman's longtime Ween collaborator Mickey "Dean Ween" Melchiondo isn't ready to put Deaner to bed quite yet. Melchiondo has recently announced the first date featuring The Dean Ween Group with more concerts expected this spring and summer.
quote:
Ween fans and music lovers rejoice! The Dean Ween Group will be performing concerts this spring and summer in advance of a new album release, scheduled for this fall. While between tours in support of his new MOISTBOYZ album, Moistboyz V, Deaner (real name Mickey Melchiondo) is playing concerts with his top notch band the Dean Ween Group, featuring Dave Dreiwitz on bass, Joe Kramer on guitar, Ray Kubian on drums, and longtime collaborator and vocalist for Moistboyz, Guy Heller. Their set features brand new material as well as a handful of Ween classics. If you're a fan of live music and screaming guitar this will be one show that you must see!

Oh Jesus. Please don't try to act like you know shite about Baton Rouge.
Culture bar booked him but I'm not sure what happened with it because they were operating without a liquor license. (They have one now as they are open)
The person who booked them no longer is associated with the venue.
He was the same person who booked Andrew WK

When? This band was literally just announced yesterday. Maybe it was Moistboyz, another Deaner side-project.
I do know about Baton Rouge. I still maintain an office there and will actually be there this weekend so stfu.

This was booked back in October
I know you don't know how this all works so I'll explain something to you. You see, before bands or artists announce they'll go on tour, their management will entertain offers and look at routing for months for prepping for tour.

FWIW Deaner and Gener are talking again according to an older interview LINK
quote:
It's text messages, e-mails. It's mostly goofy s---. We send each other funny YouTube videos or, "You wouldn't believe this just happened."
Whatever the process is of Ween, whether Ween gets back together or not, it hasn't come to the point yet where something is about to happen. If we get back together or when we get back together, I would like to think that we both will want to do it really badly and it won't be something like money that makes it happen again. Right now, it hasn't been so long where I don't remember exactly what it was like and I feel like if we had to do a show tonight, I'm ready for it. I know exactly how the day would play out. I can imagine talking to Aaron, seeing Aaron, getting picked up in a van, going to the gig, doing the sound check.
Well atleast they're texting

I think deaner is going on tour to show geaner he can do it without him in hopes it might motivate geaner to stop being a little bitch and get ween together again. At least thats what im telling myself to create optimism for the future.

Hopefully. If this tour comes anywhere reasonably close to me, I definitely plan on trying to make it out to see it.

The guitarist sat in with The Pod on two lengthy sets that were filled with Ween tunes such as "Big Jilm," "Gabrielle," "Ocean Man," "Booze Me Up And Get Me High" and "Transdermal Celebration." Deaner even took part in an acoustic segment that included "Tried and True," "Chocolate Town, "The Mollusk" and "Tender Situation." There was also a cover late in the show as The Pod and Deaner tackled "The Wind Cries Mary."
