Is Woodrow Wilson the most dangerous and harmful person ever to be President?

We got the federal reserve and 17th amendment under him.
He basically criminalized criticism of the gov't and damaged civil liberties with the sedition act of 1918.
He glorified power and sought to expand it at all costs.
He basically sought war with Germany and drew the USA in WW1.
He took over the US economy with the War Industries Board for starters.
He openly criticized the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
I can only think of FDR and LBJ as a close second and third with Lincoln not too far behind.

Certainly. FDR tried, but never quite could reach Wilson's level of shear statism. Obama's doing his best, but I doubt he'll top Wilson when all is said and done thanks to the Tea Party. Otherwise, he'd be pole-vaulting past Wilson in a hurry.

i wrote a paper about the Big Man presidency, that started with WW. The statist prof didn't like it too much but luckily didn't hose me on the grade.

He stayed out of the middle east, didn't participate in the post WW I colonialism. We'd be great there if we had kept it that way.

He's not criticized so much for his actions during and after World War 1, he's criticized for his domestic policies.

I criticise him for WWI. Without him, the Communists don't get Moscow. Without him, WWI ends two years earlier. Without him, Germany and Austria have stable governments after the War.

All very good points. I don't think anything could have prevented Moscow falling to Communism. It seemed inevitable at the time, but perhaps the Russian revolution would have gone a different way leading to a slightly less ridiculously evil regime.

Well you're correct on that one.
I don't have much of a problem with the naturalization act. The sedition act is fricked up.
Has that law ever been challenged in the SCOTUS?

What was bad about the 17th Amendment? I know the text of it, but I don't know why it's bad. Asking because I don't know. Educate me.
