although i think this recruit's commitment comes down to the wire, UCLA has his last visit and I feel that's where he goes.

Anthony Barr will be a top pick
Myles Jack is like the honey badger of linebackers

i just think we went all out for clifton garrett who will be better in Chavis' scheme

Unlike all the 1/2 guys who were thought to be all Lsu, this guy has been the opposite. Therefore, he's the surprise who stays home to play with CG. Realizes it will be a special class.

I don't think we get him after having him on the back burner all year to get CG, but, it's still cool that he will take an OV.

you generally don't have just one LB on the field so don't see where CG would be a factor

Just because there are multiple positions on the field doesn't mean that a recruit's need to feel that they're the top priority on a staff's recruiting board isn't relevant.

Young and Garrett would have completely different roles at LSU.

I actually agree...... Some of these guys have been so far off about everyone. Including this one...... He's said many times he likes LSU and it wasn't LSU that cooled on his recruitment, it was him not wanting to be recruited while playing FB. We have a great shot with him.

This gets tossed around a lot, but it really isn't true.

I've got that. I guess I was the only one that ever heard that we slow played Kenny Young throughout the year. Whether it was to give him space that the staff thought he needed, or, in order to allow other guys to feel like they were the focus and priority of recruiting, regardless of position.

Now that I am the only one who heard anything along those lines, the thread can continue on.

I could've sworn i saw something that said we told the LB from TX to not take his official because we got our instate LB which is Kenny Young

So would a center feel unappreciated if LSU was recruiting a tackle that year?

It's tough to get a read on kids from New Orleans. I've been to NOLA soooo many times and it's not exactly Pro LSU. It's not anti LSU either. I just see it as the kids really have an open mind to go all over the country and see what works best for them.
