I'm not defending Broski in here. I agree he needs to back off.

But you think we don't know this? And that should lessen our enthusiasm? As if the fans don't make the Box what it is and aren't a huge part of what makes LSU baseball great?

Ell, I love baseball too, but why can't our fans make basketball just as fun?

My comment was made in jest in the wake of a heart breaking loss.

It was meant to go no further than that. But, people got mad, real mad, real fast.

Because Trent Johnson sucked the life out of the team and Johnny Jones is not showing much improvement.

One is a perennial top-5 program, while the other is a doormat?

It's a process, man. First and foremost, winning. LSU baseball starting winning big in 1986 with less than 1000 people in the stands. Then came the fans, and the expectations and the money.

But you're also talking about a completely different animal. Changing rules like the "one and done" have made recruiting more inconsistent. AAU's rise. Winning consistently might have been possible 20-25 years ago, but it's much more difficult now.

Not advisable. I get it; but you had to know what would happen.

Do we? Do we really?

We have underachieved immensely in the wake of Brady and the big follow-up hire to get the program back on track was one of Dale's good ole boys.

What are you confused about? College baseball has no national presence. Ever see college baseball high lites on sportscenter? Nope

Hell, woman's final four gets more pub than the CWS

Unfortunately, unless they win the SECT, it (realistically) really looks like NIT at best.

What does any of that have to do with how serious some of take basketball? Am I suppose to not care about my favorite team/sport because of shite I don't control?

No need for name calling.

And do the fans really take it seriously? Attendance begs to differ.

That's because UConn is always in it and ESPN is there.

You didn't specify College. MLB average attendance > NBA average attendance.

But on a college level, it's not on a national radar like the other two sports. It's somewhat like college hockey. Up north, it's a religion in some places. Down here, almost non-existent. But I think it's growing. ESPN had every game available through ESPN3 and ratings have gone up for the whole tournament every year for the past 15 or so.

Who says I don't care? This is my way of coping, which seems to be a hell of lot more productive and less stressful.
