So if one of yall willingly got into a vehicle driven by your drunken best friend and he wrecked and killed you, how much time would yall want him to serve? Im curious

Do understand that most who get a DUI go on to get more than one other, reference the fact this is his second offense. What do you tell the family of the next person he possibly kills? Sorry, he was not in jail because he was forgiven by the other victim? Who is the former NFL player who ended up killing several victims in 2 different accidents over several yrs?

that's sort of unfair when he can get a DWI while sitting in his living room

There was a pretty lengthy thread about that ridiculous sentence on the OT.

What a fricking joke. Let someone not as "popular" drink seventeen drinks, get behind a wheel and kill someone. They would easily get 7-10 years. It's fricking vehicular homicide. Unbelievable

Ya, wasn't the guy who was killed hammered too? If I recall correctly, she just accepted her son was just as much at fault as Brent was and probably would have died if he had driven instead or something like that.
Actually, the toxicology report on Brown showed he wasn't legally drunk. If he'd been driving and killed Brent, he probably wouldn't have gone to trial.

That's even worse.

So if you got in the car with you're best friend ( both of y'all drunk) and he gets in a wreck that you die in, you would want your best friend in jail for 7-10 years?
ETA: I wouldn't want my best friend in jail for 1 day. What I would want is a lifetime breathalyzer or some shite in his vehicle so he wouldn't do it again

His friend is sentenced to being dead forever.

No shite. I understand that.
Would you want your parents or whoever to testify against your best friend for going to jail for 10 years?

I remember a lot of people on the OT defending the 17 year old boy.

I wouldn't want it but I doubt his friend wants to be dead. That argument is pointless. Justice is justice no matter who the frick it pertains too. But our country is so messed up that if you know the right people or have a little popularity behind you, you can get out of anything.
