Light for Coons and Coyotes

I'm looking for a light to attach to my M&P 15-22 for shooting some coons. Should I get a regular handheld streamlight with a rail mount bracket? Or get a rail only light? Would also like to be able to use this light on a bigger AR for coyotes. Any coon and coyote hunters here with any advice? Thanks.

I got a 600 lumen streamlight. Not attached to my gun.

What I have
Incredibly bright and badass light. It's brighter than a q beam on full power.
The XL is supposedly almost as bright with a little tighter spot. Some other good coon light makers are moonshiner, cajun lights, and high end nite lites.
A real coon hunting light is a completely different animal than what you buy at cabelas. It's pretty easy to shoot well with a cap light once you figure out how to wear it. I highly suggest not getting a rail light because you don't want to aim your rifle at everything you look at.
