Will any of the stars or recent hit shows be typecast?

Is typecasting a thing of the past? Are today's audiences too sophisticated or are there too many different outlets for actors these days?

I'm thinking if anyone maybe Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes or maybe Jon Hamm as Don Draper (though he kind of has the Hollywood look that will get him parts I think).

The last I can think that typecasting might have affected was Vigo Mortenson. (of course that was movies, not tv shows). Or maybe he just wasn't that good of an actor?

I would for the life of me have thought that Gary Sinse would be typecast as Stu from The Stand. But he went on to Lt. Dan in Forrest Gump and then to one of those police/crime shows that I think is a hit. Maybe The Stand just wasn't that popular.

Mortenson, does whatever he wants to. He does other things than just acting. Plus he does a lot of stage work.

I've never thought of him as being typecast.

I think this happens a lot more with TV shows than movies. Jim Parsons is going to get the Leonard Nimoy treatment. I think he will always be Sheldon.

I could see Aaron Paul always having roles similar to Jesse Pinkman.

I think Dean Norris will typically play a Hank type character, but I just think that's because Dean Norris put a lot of himself into Hank
