This board was flooded with RS threads when he was recruited. He was also recruiting Debose and people were in love with him for that. LF may be a better prospect but there was plenty of buzz for RS.

Same crap, different year. Next yr people will be saying so and so recruit is the biggest recruit in the history. Faulk was a much bigger get than LF. If Faulk wouldn't have come to LSU, who knows how long LSU would have been sucking hind tit to all the other big programs. Yes, LF is a good get, but to consider him bigger than Faulk is comical. LSU would be just fine with or without Fournette.

Never said that there wasn't plenty buzz about RS, but this placed would've shite the biggest brick ever if LF had gone elsewhere.

No joke. I was glad to get Russell Shepard but I was about to go in meltdown mode if we didn't get Fournette. I don't usually melt over recruiting.

The same would have happened for Shepard imo except he was out of state. The last big recruit that everyone was this buzzed about was rs10 is all I was saying. LF is a bigger deal, no doubt.

agreed...I am absolutely happy to have him at LSU, but I no longer let myself get caught up in the hysteria of highly heralded recruits..

We would've sucked hind tit until Saban got here, similar to how we still did even after we got Faulk.
I'm not here to bash on a great player and recruit in Kevin Faulk. The hype with Fournette is high for a reason. His physical attributes are ridiculous to the point to where you cannot compare him with any other recruit LSU has ever signed.
I guess all of those who think Magee and Hilliard will have more yards will just have to wait and see. You're in for a treat.
