I've had great luck with the Silverado. Mine has about 130,000 miles now and I've had no trouble. The small block V8 is a good motor. I think the new GMC trucks look amazing as well, and would probably be my choice for a new pickup now.
You can probably get the best deal on a Ford right now since they are redesigning their vehicle next year.
The Ram half ton diesel may be an interesting choice, but I'm not confident in Chrysler's durability and I doubt the dealers will be having fire sales on those particular models anytime soon.
