I like LP's Fiestas + Fiascos is awesome (the characters, Minneapolis night life), I think a must have for HS fans. I agree that the HS has taken it to the next level... Although, IMO, their last record was the weakest and I hope its not a trend...

Ode to Sunshine is a fantastic record from DS... that said, I wasnt blown away by their last one, in fact, disappointed...

I like Deer Tick just fine, but sometimes his voice grates on me and the main guy comes off as an all around bellend..

I would have Dawes rated higher all of them, but they just give me something that no other band does at the moment... borderline iffy lyrics, but they hit the spot... My friend calls them, music for lonely guys... she may have a point, haha

Yes, he definitely has a polarizing voice it seems. You either are going to like it or not.

Heaven is Whenever is a better record than it gets credit for, though I agree its their weakest. It's the transitional album without Franz Nicholay in the band. We'll see how they can manage without him the next album, the real test for them.

It's not that I hate Cold War Kids its just that they I have almost no opinion on them. I don't think they are near the level of the other bands listed.
