I read Nola too. He has consistently said he thought Gage would be a part of this class if LSU missed on other targets.

Well that seems like an offer is imminent. Hope the young man makes the most of his opportunity if it comes to fruition.

is gage solely a safety. adams, voorhies, battle, gage. will all 4 be safetys.

So for once, shite that he threw at the wall may actually stick?
I guess if you throw enough of it, it's bound to stick at some point

Safety or offense.

Is he related to Rocky Duplessis?

The talk awhile bacj was that if we took gage then Voorhies may become a WR. But if we really like Voorhies at Safety, which I know we do, then maybe we red shirt Gage at the safety position and only bring in Toliver next class at the S position.

The number 1 corner in the country?

Russell would be a great addition, he can truly do anything. Great athlete that will bulk up and help LSU somehow.

I remember that - and that is possible - I guess it depends on how the WR class turns out. For that matter, if Adoree comes, that is a corner, possible return man and a few offensive snaps - but it frees up Paris to play safety - if necessary.
But, I like Paris at corner, too, and he should get the first look there.
Gage isn't a reach, but nothing leaps out that says "he would be a good nickel" or even "his natural position is safety"(although that may be true) - he's just a good, all around football player with average size to play a skill position in the SEC - I'm not dismissing him (and I said he isn't a reach), but I suspect he will have to make a place for himself, rather than fitting neatly into one.

This is true. He's getting consideration because we have more space than we'd like.

Probably true - if we had gone 5for5, I doubt this would be happening.
In Gage's case, I like it - because the kid can clearly play ball - the key will be to figure out where he fits quickly, so he can develop some skills at it. I like him because, even if he never finds a starting spot on offense or defense, he has the combination of things that often make a great special teams player. Certainly a better risk/reward than a true reach on an OL or DL prospect which would be a scholarship for a scout team player.
