That's why I'd stay away from it

The money is in large commercial property such as strip malls, movie theaters, business parks, etc.
The daily grind of house to house wears people out.

Items to consider:
Structure (do you want to be an LLC vs Scorp)
Ownership ( you vs wife being the owner)
Record keeping( software for accounting and management of contracts)
Growth( hiring additional employee's for peak periods)
Year contracts vs peak month contracts

as for advertising, you are in the right age group to where a facebook page shared amongst friends could do you wonders.

Facebook/Twitter would be good. Highlight any issues you run into on a lawn. If you run into a disease or problem weed, post pictures and explain how you handled the issue (with the owners permission). It will show people you do more than just operate a mower.

Structure (do you want to be an LLC vs Scorp)
- Definately filing LLC soon
Ownership ( you vs wife being the owner)
- I will be sole owner
Record keeping( software for accounting and management of contracts)
-Researching software now
Growth( hiring additional employee's for peak periods)
- Multiple fire department employees I can use for GOOD help
Year contracts vs peak month contracts
Im shooting for weekly/bi-weekly homeowners and year long business contracts.
As far as starting for 10k-
Gravely ZT HD 44 for 5k
Small push mower for a couple of hundred
14x6 Square tubing trailer with spare and gate for $950
Echo trimmer, edger and backpack for 750
Plus some extra things thrown in for the rest of the cash. I will be buying these items over the course of 2014 with cash as to start this debt free of equipment.
- I hate Facebook on the "personal" level, but I feel like it can be used heavily to advertise and grow a business. I see it as immediate "word of mouth" referrals if 1 person with 900 friends on facebook shares your business link.
