I know this isn't groundbreaking, but having manageable 3rd downs will help TREMENDOUSLY

first two drives on offense, killed the whole game, momentum, confidence, etc. We need to GAIN yards on our early runs and be productive.

getting points on the opening drive has become a rarity for us, and this needs to change. soooo important to have a strong opening drive to quiet that crowd. doesn't matter if it's in 1 play or 10 neither. the game control/management is important after this

They need to have productive runs on the first couple of drives and not abandon the run. That and be on defense first.

Yeah this breakdown from Grantland touches on that.

It was a beatdown, but in rewatching the game, I was surprised at how much came down to Seattle catching several key breaks early. Seattle was the better team on the day and deserved to win, and the Saints had no hope of catching up once the Seahawks got out to a 27-7 halftime lead, but New Orleans showed a lot more during the first half than I remembered. It made me believe that the Saints might have a better shot of making Saturday's game a contest than my memory — and the final score of that encounter in Week 13 — suggested.

Where I really felt like the Saints were unlucky was in dealing with the game's two early fumbles, which had a tremendously important role in putting them behind in this contest.

This is the reason we lost the game.

I even told myself on that first drive "The Seattle crowd doesn't seem THAT into it, so let's not give them a reason to be". Then boom, a fumble recovery returned for a TD. From then on, we were fricked.

We must keep the crowd out of this game. To do that we need to run run run run run and then run some more. Those corners will get antsy and we will burn them.
