I also was trying to loo at artists that spanned the whole decade, thats why I didnt include Neutral Milk Hotel, Spoon or Modest Mouse, etc...

Yo La Tengo would need to be on the final ballot..

And Slanted Enchanted... yes! but pound for pound, Watery, Domestic EP is their best work to me!

Yeah, I'm with you on Modest Mouse, who I think of as an '00s band. Same with Sleater-Kinney.

Well, Dischord doesn't really have a sound, but it will only record bands in the DC area. It documents the scene. But it's also a hardcore label.
