My understanding is he's not dumb actually but he has no guidance and just doesn't care. He gets motivated for a bit and then just stops going to class. But considering he would probably be a 5* player and if he'd apply himself would be an NFL player down the line, it's pretty hard to argue that a kid that won't give a modicum of effort for that result isn't dumb as a brick.

btw, on that note, Alaka may be one of the smartest kids in this class and school matters a great deal to him. His older brother is at Rice btw
